My name is Nicole Brownlee, and I’m the Founder and CEO of Story Box Library.

One catalyst for starting Story Box Library was recognising the importance of representing Australian voices in Children's literature. Supporting diversity in Australian stories and children's literature allows many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children to see themselves represented.

It’s more important now than ever that young First Nations children see themselves reflected positively through stories, with an Australian curriculum that supports and empowers.

That’s why I’m stating our company support for the Voice to Parliament.

The Voice would give opportunity for First Nations people to actively shape education for generations to come, helping to make positive progress for First Nations children, artists, storytellers and communities everywhere.

Ahead of voting on October 14, I urge you to visit the Voice federal government website to make an informed decision. In our bid to ‘defuse the nonsense’ we are also sharing Yorta Yorta rapper Briggs' video which has gone viral. As one of our fabulous storytellers, we think his humorous response is a brilliant way to communicate a serious message!

If you have any questions or feedback, you can email us here.

Sincerely,

Nicole Brownlee
