Why can't I find the story I'm looking for using the search box?

There are two different areas you can search on our website. If you click the 3 stacked horizontal lines in the top right corner of any page it will open a menu with a search bar at the top. This search bar searches our entire site including story titles, themes, synopses, short films, blog posts, FAQ articles.

If you are logged in to your dashboard or on the Stories page that search bar only searches story/film titles and themes. You can also tap or click on the SHOW FILTERS button to filter stories by age, theme, author, illustrator, storyteller or duration, and choose from different sort options.

We regularly review and improve our search algorithm to improve our subscribers' experience, but if you can't find what you're looking for try one of these suggestions:

  • Make sure you haven't accidentally included any typos in your search terms.
  • Try a similar but less specific keyword, such as "father" instead of "Father's Day", or "insects" instead of "bees".
  • Use the filter menu on the Stories page instead of keywords.
  • If you normally use the site-wide search from the main menu try using the Stories search instead, or vice versa.

If you experience any other issues, please let us know. If the story isn't available on Story Box Library yet, read here for information about how to recommend books to us!
