The Stone Lion

Set during the Depression, a young girl finds comfort in the presence and strength of a stone, cold lion perched outside the entrance of the city library. Feeling compelled to help the girl, the lion feels his heart start to beat and his emotions awaken. Margaret Wild's whimsical story is enhanced by the soft dreamy pastels of Ritva Voutila's illustrations, whilst Emily Barrett brings the fable-like tale of The Stone Lion to life.
