Lizzie Nonsense

Do you like to use your imagination when you’re playing at home?

Lizzie and her family live in the middle of the Australian bush…miles away from anyone or anything!  So when Lizzie’s dad goes away for work, and it’s just Lizzie, Mama and baby left in their little house, Lizzie uses her imagination to create oceans, feasts, and weddings - making life in the bush as exciting as possible.  Lizzie’s mum fondly calls it “Lizzie nonsense”, but we soon learn that Lizzie is not the only one who likes to pretend.

Newsreader, Jo Hall, reads us Jan Ormerod's beautiful Lizzie Nonsense - a stunning portrayal of Australian family life in the early pioneer days.
