What authentication options are available for patrons of a library with a Public Library subscription?

SIP2 Authentication
If SIP2 settings have been configured, patrons can log in with their library card number and catalogue PIN/password by navigating to Log In > Library Barcode Login > selecting their library's name from the dropdown box and submitting their details. We recommend using SIP2 for patron access because it offers extra functionality for patrons and account holders. More info and set up instructions here.

EZProxy Authentication
If a user is logged into your EZProxy system (either within the library or offsite) and clicks your EZProxy link to Story Box Library, they will automatically be logged in to SBL. More info and set up instructions here.

Barcode Range Authentication
If your library can't use SIP2 or EZproxy you can let us know your library's barcode range then patrons will be able to log in by navigating to Log In > Library Barcode Login > selecting their library's name from the dropdown box and entering their library card number.

If you are using SIP2 or barcode range authentication, we can also set up the following for your library's account:

IP Address Recognition
If a user visits https://storyboxlibrary.com.au/libraries (and only that page) from one of the IP addresses you have supplied, your library name will be preselected. The user enters their barcode (and password/PIN if required) to log onto the site.

Referring Domain Recognition
If a user clicks a link to https://storyboxlibrary.com.au/libraries (and only that page) from a webpage on one of the domains you have supplied, your library name will be preselected. The user enters their barcode (and password/PIN if required) to log onto the site.

If you need help with or further information about any of these settings, please contact us.
