What are Classroom Ideas?

Classroom Ideas are designed for use by educators. They include an abundant list of engaging questions and activity ideas to help explore the unique themes, text structures and language features of each story with students in the Primary classroom. They provide diverse opportunities for children to listen to, view, speak, write, create, reflect and compare texts within our library while also developing other skills such as metacognition, social skills, and critical and creative thinking.

Classroom Ideas are made accessible to educators with a Professional or School Subscription, and are aligned with the content descriptions across the learning areas of English, Maths, Humanities, Science, Health and Physical Education, The Arts and Technologies, in addition to relevant General Capabilities and Cross-Curriculum Priorities.

We do provide a suitability age for each set of Classroom Ideas but encourage educators to use their discretion in selecting relevant and appropriate activities for their students, with licence to combine, adapt, simplify or extend the ideas to tailor teaching and learning activities to the abilities and needs of students.

Teachers can download, print or use Classroom Ideas electronically, with quick and easy links to other relevant stories and additional resources.
