Renee Fogorty

Author / Illustrator

A descendant of the Wiradjuri people from the Lachlan River region of central New South Wales, Renee Fogorty grew up in Sydney. As a Koori student at secondary school, Renee was motivated to explore issues that face young Indigenous Australians. Drawing on her own experiences and her passion for art and Aboriginal Studies, Renee wrote 'Fair Skin Black Fella' for a Year 12 project.
Renee now lives in Sydney with her partner Nathan and son, Axel. She loves to paint Aboriginal art and abstract works and looks forward to creating more stories that reflect the lives of today's young Indigenous Australians.
